Thumbs up PRESS RELEASE: Off Road Evolution Rear Lower ControlArm Skids (RCS)

Check it out boys and girls, Off Road Evolution has just released yet another cool mod that I know all you rockcrawlers are gonna want - the all new EVO Rear Lower Control Arm Skids (RCS)....

These things are constructed out of 3/16" steel, laser cut and CNC bent. These rear lower control arm skids conform directly to Rear JK Lower Control Arm brackets. These weld on brackets give protection to your control arm joints, rear shocks and prevent your factory control arm brackets from bending.

• No cutting required
• Weld on installation
• 3/16" steel construction
• Laser Cut
• CNC Bent
• Skid for control arm joints
• Skid for rear shocks

Comes in a set for one complete rear JK axle and available for only:
$49.99

Does the list ever end? All these upgrades are freaking addictive. I feel like I need to go to a meeting or something.

Very cool, but I think Im going to get the bolt on ones that relocate the shock.

Any idea if Evo or someone else is making a complete replacement front lower control arm bracket yet? I destroyed one of my front ones pretty badly at the JK-fest. I got it fixed, reinforced and added the Evo control arm skids, but I wouldve felt better if I completely replaced the bracket with something heavier.

So just to clarify this is an alternative to the relo bracket that just provides the skid benefit?

If you have installed the EVO front CA skids, it reinforces the factory control arm bracket by adding approx 3 inchs of weld to the axle housing in the most critical spot, the front. This helps the lower control arm bracket from being ripped off the axle (which we have seen a few times without the EVO skids)

If the EVO front lower control arm skids are installed correctly, the front factory lower control arm mounts can handle Huge hits, still keep its shape and not be ripped off the axle (tested with tires up to 40 inches).

If you are interested, we can ship you FRONT and REAR control arm brackets made out of 3/16" steel.
We do not list these on our site because these are typically a fab part that we use for custom fabrication but if you are interested in these, give us a call.

I would like to stress that replacing the entire control arm bracket is a LOT more time consuming and reguires proper mesuring.
That is why Axle Magnafactures Like DYNATRAC, CURRIE,and SOLID spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars making and setting up fixtures to ensure proper pinion and caster angles. Improper installation of these brackets can create suspension binding, producing amplified loading on all suspension brackets and joints.

This is not to say that replacing these brackets is not a good idea, just that it can be a difficult and time consuming process with potential to create a negative effect. Our skids can be used on these aftermarket brackets aswell.

Thanks, I'll see how mine holds up with the skid on it. I just dont have alot of faith in the strength of the steel after all the straightening that had to be done. I wish I wouldve gotten your skids installed the week BEFORE the trip and not a week after.
