Pro Cal by AEV?
The procal tuner is typically used to adjust settings for wheel size, gears, daytime running lights, engine idle for winching etc.. Very helpful after a lift I had one with an 08 I had and it was great, I eventually went with a superchip tuner later which did more engine tuning. Research what they do and buy accordingly, remember that they vin lock which means that once u use it on your vehicle until the procal is set back to stock it can't be used on other JK's.

But pro tuner does more for engine. How much more?
a programer like a superchips cannot make your 3.8 into a hemi but, it will provide noticable and real gains on top of do much of what the procal does. but, they are more expensive.

What are you trying to do/or what are you needing a tuner for? Would be a good question to ask as well more info on this would be helpful for us to answer your question if you have more.

The superchips tuner does more and less as it can't control the daytime running lights, but it did provide a better throttle response and a bit of performance gain but it's not like doing a hemi swap. Not sure what year you have for a jeep but to compare I had a 2008 2 door and loved it the superchips tuner made it even more enjoyable to drive with a better foot response. There are other plug and play options out there as well that will improve this as well. I now own a 2012 4door with the pentastar and this motor is amazing, I don't think this is even an option yet to use a superchips tuner as they will have to design and test what there program values are.

Yup it will work perfect for that, the superchips tuner only let me drop the tpms down to 12 or something like that which was fine, on the procal u can drop it to 0 both of them will also fix the stability programming as well when u corner if u haven't noticed it u should when taking corners at speed.

If you want something just to turn off your TPMS and re-calibrate your speedo, the ProCal is a great tool for it. Unfortunately, it's the only option for us 2011+ guys right now. The "tuners" will work for those functions, but they won't provide any performance gains because of the 2011+ ECM security protocols. So rather than spend $500 on a programmer, it's better for us to spend $150 on the ProCal.
You are right, that engine needs to breathe first.
