Default Question about new wheels

Alright i was wondering if i could buy new wheels for my 08 Rubicon unlimited and still run the stock tires. I want to buy Black soft 8s and replace the stock cast aluminum wheels. So i was wondering if i can get 17x8 soft 8s and mount them where the stock 17x7.5 wheels were. Is it a problem that the new wheels are a half inch too big or will they mount and run fine?
