The contact area is the bottom lip of the flares, since the taller/wider tires are moved out far enough that they can no longer tuck up inside those stock flares. Makes sense, right?

As an example, this is 33x11.50's, 3.25" of actual lift height, 4.5 backspace rims. The tires were lightly rubbing in that pic -- going straight!! Turn the wheel, and that fender comes off...

You have options. Chop the flares, add taller bumpstops, add lift height, whatever. Just remember that all builds are different...

Sure is. Not back from Japan yet. Headed to Germany from here, but finally getting back into a Jeep. PM'd you.

Yeah I understand. I know when I talked to teraflex they said "if rub anywhere it'll be the top of the fender, even then I'll only rub when flexing" but I'm sitting a extra 1.5" from the leveling kit. I'm going to get the tires installed this Saturday and will update the OP. I also know I need to add longer bump stops like you mentioned so I don't pop off a fender when hitting a bump haha

So I have the tera flex leveling kit, the kit thats just pucks... Heres my question

Can 35x12.5.x17 fit on my jiu now without any rubbing???? (I have rims with 10 offset and 4.89 BS, and a aftermarket front bumper). I have the brand new tires just sitting in my garage but was going to wait to buy the lift in summer time but i would like to mount the tires now. The jeep is going to be a pavement princess until i put the lift on in the summer so I am not worried about flexing. Just want to know if ill be good without rubbing and all that nonsense
This is 255 70 17 nittos trail graps

Thanks! Looks like I should be fine then. I don't think my stock fenders will interfere that much because I'm lifted up a bit

Yeah, my front rubs the swaybar at full flex and turned all the way to the right. And my rear rubs a little at full flex, but I haven't figured out where...I just heard it while wheeling last weekend and saw that my tread was cut ever so slightly. So with a minor lift you should be golden

All the people i speak with say i will just rub on my fenders if i hit a bump or so. Im thinking I might add the moore 1" BL just to avoid the troubles
Put it to you this way. I have a 3.5" lift and running 35x12.50x17 and I rubbed on my little plastic splash guard. took it off and I was good. I think your biggest problem will be your fenders. if you got flat fenders and maybe added spacers you should be fine. that being said, I'm not a total expert. hope this helps a little bit

We will find out this weekend when I mount them. I'm pretty sure I'll rub on my fenders but I'm just hoping I don't, especially since I won't be offroading till summer
