If you're going to stay with 35s and not go bigger go with the 4.88

People will say go with 5.13 just becasue its a higher ratio but it could also hurt your motor...

If you dont drive it daily , get the 5.13 . if you do drive daily, go with 4.88

have the same 2dr auto 35" setup and I did it this way, its my daily driver.


the 5.13 pinion for the d30 is really small and you can find many posts with broken dent histories, i went with strength over power so... no front blocker for me ever !

I've got 5.13 in mine and its a daily driver. Works great. No problems on road or off. 3.8 auto with 35's and 3.5" lift. Look at the gearing sheets WoL has posted in one of the stickies. It will answer all of your questions. It's a big spread sheet that shows optimal gearing for varying other factors.

i second this guy. everyone saying go 5.13s is nutso. i wouldnt even go 4.88s....i dont think you realize with 5.13s 1st will be non-existent you rpms are gonna be high as Shizzzz
