Recommend an all terrain stock tire..
So I am running the stock size 255/75/17.
Let me start out by saying this Jeep is a DD and sees 90% on road. I am currently running E rated Goodyear Silent Armors, but they are way too stiff even with lower pressure. Can someone recommend a soft compound, C rated all terrain that will ride very soft on the street? |
Since they are a sponsor, clicky here:
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...&typ=Truck/SUV Slightly different size than your stock tire. Its 31.7 tall and 10.7 wide. Your Silent Armors are probably 32.1 x 10.0 (If I found the right one....couldn't find an E in that size). And this AT looks like an MT.......search the forum, haven't seen a complaint yet on these tires! |
You couldn't find an E for the silent armors in 255/75/17? Is it possible mine are C?Is there a way to check on the tire?
I've heard good things about the duratrecs but the lugs on those things don't look to friendly for a rig that's mostly on road.. |
don't mean to hijack but has anyone use these.
falken high country. they look better than nitto and toyo all terrains to me. http://www.1010tires.com/images/tire...ntry_at_lg.jpg |
Anyone else with any recommendations?

Just put GY Duratracs on and absolutely love them. Quiet, aggressive (for an a/t) and ride very nice. Mine are 265/75/17 load range C.

Also since mine is 255/75/17 and those are 265/75/17, will I need a new alignment? |
I was looking for a quiet all terrain and my favorite was the good year dura trac, but you can't get it in a 35" tire size for 17" wheels. I know that my jeep magazine did a complete tire layout and it rated the BFG TA KO as one of the top tires. Those were my two choices. So why did I go with Nitto Terra Grappler, because they are cheaper. I haven't put them on yet. Does anyone have opinions on these tires?

Are the BFG KO soft compound and C rated?
|
my family and i run alot of trucks for work and farm use, we only run bfg ko's. On heavy trucks we avr 60,000miles out of the tire and the ride is hard to beat. That being said, i have not ran a pair on my jeep..
