Default Removing Sound Deadening Goop

I'm going to bed line my tub. Just had a question about removing the sound deadening goop. I will, obviously, remove the goop from the bottom of the tub.

But, I'm wondering about along the junction of the bottom and the sides

and along the upper part of the side of the tub

Do you think this should also be removed? Is this the same material? Perhaps this is covering a seam rather than just serving as a sound deadening application.

I'd leave the seam sealer alone on the edges. I know you're looking for a smooth look but that is not a place I'd remove the goop.

For the floorboards- if you get it good and wet, it'll come up with a putty knife.

Just got finished reading this thread... Mark9998 said he used a wire wheel on a drill (along with keeping the goop wet) to remove it. Said it worked out nicely and had a few pics of it as well.

The goop on mine was just a flat sheet of it. Not the drizzle looking kind. Mines a 15, so maybe they changed the design? For what it's worth I used a heat gun from harbor freight for like 9 bucks on sale. It came up very easy with putty knife after being heated.

Mine is a 15 too. It had the flat sheet style as well.
I’ll second that it comes out real easy with a good heat gun.

Yup, seam-sealant stays; same with my Line-X.

Default Post-Liner Application photos

I never did provide any follow-up from earlier in the year. Here is what my interior looks like after removing the sound deadening goop and having Camoliner lining was performed. Very easy now. Just pop the floor plugs and hose it out.
