Default Replacment upper dash pannel

Does anyone have one of these replacement upper dash pannels with the storage spaces for cell phones, glasses ect.? They are selling these on e-bay for $25.00. Are they worth putting in?

I also got the Daystar one from Quadratec.
I like it too, it works out great for sunglasses and cell phones.
It was pretty easy to put on.

Was thinking of ordering one; does it interfere with the MyGig Nav at all? I've had the top off a few times to install a mic for UConnect/Voice activation - that was cake - just wondering if the DayStar panel interferes with anything post install? I noticed a few wires under the OEM plastic top, too; guess those easily reconnect to the new Daystar panel? Sorry if this doesn't make sense; its late and Im wiped

It shouldn't have any affect with the MyGig Nav, I am sure that someone with MyGig will chime in, but I had the wires that you are talking about on mine, and I dont have a MyGig. They go to the electronic compass module. You simply unplug the wire harness, remove the original dash panel and remove 2 screws that hold the compass module in place. The new Daystar dash panel has a place that you screw the module back onto and then you just reconnect the wire harness. it was really easy and took me like 5 minutes to do.

I've got the one from Daystar, pretty much since I bought the Jeep. I love it. It keeps things pretty secure. I cut a piece of thin, flat rubber sheet for the back compartment to keep anything I have in there from sliding out in turns.

Is it legal to have loose stuff laying on your dash? Our town cop once fined my buddy because he had sunglasses and stuff laying on his dash.He said it could "cause a distraction".
