Any gear manufacturer will be good, but you want to determine whether or not you want the gears cryo treated.

As far as shafts go, ten factory's have a great warranty, but it is my understanding that the G2 shafts are just relabeled Ten Factory's with a lower price tag. Same warranty too.

Rear 30sp G2's were on back-order when I was looking two weeks ago. But from emails to the mfg's, they have the same stats and warranty as TenFactory shafts, and you'll save about $100.

I called 10 Factory and asked them and G2 purchases some shafts but only when they run out.

We have all 10 Factory shafts in stock

Default "c" gussets

Thanks for the info on gears and shafts, is this a project for a novice garage mechanic?

Also, can gussets be welded with axle on truck on the ground or do things need to be stripped and cleared?

Gears, not really for a novice mechanic, unless you want to buy all of the tools you will need, and spend a lot of time reading and researching and preparing, then expecting to do it, take it apart, re-do it, take it apart, re-do it.
Read through this one:

For the shafts - There should be a write-up or two up in the writeups area, or you can find a bunch of vids on youtube. Pull the tire and brakes, a couple bolts, and slide the shaft out.

Yes, gussets can be welded on without ripping everything apart. IF you go slow and careful, and keep everything cool.

Default ball joints

I understand replacing stock ball joint is a good idea ( I have 60K miles) when I weld the gussets, what brand is preferred?

Synergy seem to be the favored replacement. I believe they are $200 shipped from Northridge. They are way stronger than stock. And yes, may as well replace them while you're in there welding gussets.
