Default Roof Rack... What to buy?

I'm in the market for a good roof rack that can carry items such as cases, bags of equipment, boxes, etc. If it matters, I have a removable hard top. Any ideas on what I should look at?

Thanks

Default Roof Rack Suggestion

If I was to purchase a rack, I would get the AEV. It's not good for a soft top, but since you are using a hard top, you should be gtg.

Ya saw that one, but I think it's like $1000.

But I will definitely keep it in mind

I really like the Gobi as you can still take the hard top off.

I'm leaning towards the MBRP but haven't done enough research yet.

Dont go cheap. You will regret it. Its nice to have a rack you can climb on and bolt and tie anything to. I absolutely love my GOBI. I have gas cans, awning, hi-lift jack and lights and a ladder bolted to it

I love my Wild Boar rack. Works with soft and hard top. Easy to add lights back and front. Extremely sturdy.

I just had one of the new AEV racks put on my 2013 Rubicon that I took delivery of a few weeks ago. The folks at TrailJeeps in Boulder put it on. I had a Gobi rack on my 2009 Wrangler and thought it, too was a great rack. The AEV has considerably cleaner lines than the Gobi and little or no wind noise (I live in Colorado and we can get some pretty high winds in the mountains that would probably make wind noise for any rack). In any event, I have no intention of installing a fairing for my AEV rack as I did with the Gobi. As you would expect, AEV did a very nice job of designing their rack. I have the hard top for my Rubicon that I plan on not taking off very often. That being said, you can do that after you remove 8 bolts that attach the rack to the interior roll bars.
