Default RuffStuff 1 ton tie rod and 16” wheels

Is anyone running 16” wheels with the Ruff Stuff 1 tin tie rod kit! I know their site says 17” wheels needed but I also know some of us go outside the box. If you are running 16” wheels, what’s your setup? Thanks.

It'll depend on your backspace. I don't have a set of 16's right now but the joints were fairly visible with wheel spacers and halfway decent backspace.

While I don't run the ruff. I had 16 inch with 4.5 backspace and put a tie rod on with GM 1 ton ends and the wheels will fit when going straight. The minute you turn they will grind severely and destroy everything.

So works great as long as you don't turn. Problems solved!

are you already running 16 inch wheels? if you aren't already, i would advise against it. i like going outside of the box on things as well. but, 16 inch wheels is just asking for frustration and higher tire costs.

Exactly. I was all excited when I put the wheels back on and saw they fit. Then I turned the wheels and checked clearance and it went clunk way too soon. So now I run my beadlocks all year.

You are going to need like a 1.5" BS wheel to run it on a 16" wheel. Basically push the wheel totally outside of the knuckle.
