Default Rugged Ridge Cowl Covers?

Anyone have these?

They are the plastic cowl covers that will prevent/hide the infamous dimple mod.

What I really want to know is are these going to melt if you use windshield mounted lights.

I don't have the dimple mod yet, thankfully, but I think even the dimple mod would look better than that...

If I was going cover that area personally I would rather use WP's smooth steel ones.

Really? I like these better than the WP ones, and they definitely won't rust. My jeep will be black and white, so I don't think it will look as bad as on the green one in the pic.

Here, I Photoshopped it in:

I don't think it will look that bad, but I have windshield lights planned, and this is a no-go if the plastic will melt.

I didn't have it either until my wife helped me put the doors back on
I still haven't decided if I want these or not, but that ding drives me nuts every time I look at it.

My two issues are it's plastic and definitely don't care for the 'design' on it.

My first "mod" was the dimple on the drivers side. I ordered a pair of these cowl covers, but haven't installed them yet, for three reasons. 1) the 1/4" foam adhesive tape looks flimsy, and will permeate water, creating a corrosion situation. 2) I seriously doubt the 1/4" foam tape will hold these things on at 70 mph, and I don't want to catch one in the face, or have it drag across someone's new Lexus hood on the highway. 3) I haven't decided if they are too obtrusive looking on my Natural Green JK. I demo'd them for the wife, and she said they looked fine. If I do install them, I will either use a more reliable adhesive system, or install with four allen head black cap screws.
