Default Rugged ridge XHD Snorkel on a 2012 Jk

Hi everyone, need some help. Just got to the last part of installing the snorkel, installing the fender, and the fender well doesn't clear the aluminum intake tube. Anyone have any insights or work arounds that don't involve cutting the fender well? Soooo BUMMED this doesn't fit correctly. Seven hours shot to hell

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks

Not sure on a 12' I have an 11' and I spent all day 7 hrs so far and not done. I'm actually caught up on seating the 90 degree and the lower box. Every time I get the clamp on they just separate. It's gotta be me not putting that particular clamp
On correctly. My biggest complaint is the non-labeling of the bolts/nuts. I'm messing with the z-bracket. Do you use new bolts/nuts for that? Or re-use the ones you took out?

When I get to that step tomorrow if non one has answered your question ill try and help ya out.

I have a 13 and should be the same but, I didn't have any problems with clearing the fender.

Is the Z bracket set in toward the engine farther as that will help with getting it out of the way?

I am reaching here as I didn't have any problems.

Sorry.

Bootman, do some searching. You have to let the RTV set a bit before clamping. Otherwise is acts as a lubricant.

+1 Letting it set up a bit helps.

Also, not sure how different my '08 is from the install on the newer models. Mine only took ~3 hours end to end. I did use my air compressor ratchet to help remove the fender bolts a lot faster...other than that my only issue was the sealant acting as a lubricant. Lesson learned the hard way.

I had to just cut the fender liner on the inside of the wheel well to get it back on. I'm sure that I could have forced it to fit but at that point I was ready to be done with it.

I tried again today and no luck. I don't want to cut the fender skirt to make this fit. Tried Rugged Ridge three times left two messages with Ryan two emails with five pics. No returned calls past the initial which suggested I move the intake tube. Tried, but no room and its a tight fit to the frame already and the heat shields can't be bent any further, I think. Could this be the problem ? Check third pic. Took it out until I can find a resolution. Here is a pic

Use the bolts that come out of the cowling for this step.
