First off, welcome to the forum!

There is a thread in the Stock forum discussing MPG. There seems to be many variables that contribute to fuel economy. What octane gas do you use?

Welcome to the forum. I have a 2 door Rubicon, 6 speed and I average 20 mpg. I still have the stock tires on it with no lift or anything. YET! I assume you have the 3.8 v6?

Hi Filkovi,

Welcome to the JK-forum. I have 35" tires and I get about 10-12 MPG in a Rubicon. People do different Modifications that may get them better MPGs. What was on the Sticker from the dealer?

As far as the water leak, is it in the freedom top? if so, their is a lot of information on this site about that topic and other issues.

Hello Filkovi !

If you are able to make a visit to finland, these two dealers/maintenance shops can help you if you need to make repairs:

Autoportti Oy
Merikatu 6, Hamina
This is only 20 km from Vaalimaa border.

or

Autotalo Ripatti Oy
Toikansuontie 6, Lappeenranta

Hope this helps you !

What are the specs of your Jeep?

Do you have the CRD and run diesel fuel, or are you on petorl like us.

What transmission?

Weather and do you go over a lot of hills or is it pretty flat?

Good job on your English.

oh, what mpg were you getting with stock tires?

Let me start by saying ..... Welcome to the forum !!!

I believe your tire comes up to 33 inches; If you have 3.21 rear axle or 3.73 that is about correct ..... prolly your gearing compared to tire height !!!

I went back to my stock tire .... and got 19 on the highway , but I did not go faster than 67 miles per hour !!! 70 mph kills the economy !!!

Welcome to the forum Filkovi

Maybe the real cause to think you are getting poor mileage:

Did you recalibrate your speedo for the 33" tires on now? What was the original tire size on your X, 29's?

I will guarantee it is a calibration thing your speedo is probably out by approx. 10-12% if you had 29's originally and therefore you seem to be getting crappy mileage.

You will have to figure out your true calibration (%) and hand calculate your distance by adding the extra mileage with your larger tires.

TEEJ should chime in on this...he has explained it very well in other threads.

Other things that may cause poor mileage:

What rear end do you have? 3:21/3:73 or 4:10?

What Octane fuel are you using? Recommended 87
Is your JK brand new very low miles? The motor will need sometime to loosen up and break-in.
What type of roads are you driving on? Mostly pavement or dirt roads?
Air filter is clean, tire pressures are correct.

However the Wrangler is a Brick on Wheels.

Unless you have the speedo/odom recalibrated for the larger tires, you will not get an accurate odometer reading. I also have the 285/75/16, and at around 60 mph my speedo reads almost 6-7 mph slower than I am actually going. So your odometer will show less miles too.
