Shocks for a softer ride
I am putting new shocks on my 2011 JKU. Seeking a softer ride on washer-board road, so not looking for stiff shocks. Will also have a 2" front lift and ~1 inch in rear. 285/70/17 BFG KO2s. Planning non-nitrogen shocks. Dont want to get mushy ride either
Any suggestions on brands/models, etc?

I went from Bilstein 5100s to the Rancho 9000XLs. Much better ride. I set mine at 3 on the fronts, 4 on the rears. I drop them down to the lowest setting when off-road and it helps.
Tire pressure along with disconnecting the front sway bar also help quite a bit.

I agree you need to look into different tire, check the load rating as a jeep does not need the stiff tires that a ton truck needs. Ride will suffer. You want a soft non-nitro shock for washboards? This is opposite of what is typically done for washboards. You need the nitrogen to keep the oil from cavitaitng and faster rebound and typically run a stiffer valving for bumps.

Dirtman,
If I read you right, are you recommending that I do go with a nitro shock?

I loved my 9000s but I changed last month to OME long travels and I'm not upset that I did. Highly recommend both but I think I prefer the OME
