short sway bar links and lift.... not the best idea.
so i have a 3.25" lift on my jeep with 35s and have been rolling around with the stock front sway bar links, mainly because i dont have time to put the disconnects on and i dont go offroad right now...
well the other day i was getting my tires balanced and the car lift the guys put the jeep on made the links flip forward.
i didnt realize it until a day or two later when the jeep started riding terrible.. and i mean bad.. almost like the axle was welded to the frame. like my 77 ramcharger i have..
but last night i have to take the front tires off and fix the links to be back where they are supposed to be and i notice that the passenger side axle bracket is a little bent.. nothing serious just enough to notice by looking at it.
i am getting the disconnects put on tomorrow so i am driving around as it is right now..
i am thinking a little heat and a proper pry bar will straighten that thing right up.. is there anything i am missing?
also, i have read about people with the e-disco having their stuff flip all the way around and bending??? mine stopped on the steering link and basically formed a straight line from the sway bar to the axle which was causing the bad ride.. how are the rubis flipping theirs around??
thanks..

yeah, anything more than 2" of lift and the factory sway bar links will be too short for a rubi. once disconnected, you will run the risk of over extending the links and flipping them like yours did. a cheap easy solution is to get new longer rear links and moving your factory rear links up front.
It only takes a few minutes to put on the swaybar quick disconnects. You don't have to even take your tires off. If you spent a couple of minutes to put them on, you wouldn't have any problems. Sorry about your luck.
its cool. i am putting them on today. just a short term solution really.. i would like to get the teraflex sway bar where you turn a knob and it is disconnected... all it takes is money..
I would go back to the tire shop and let them know what they did. Try to get them to replace the bent piece they casued. It takes me all of 30 seconds to get my JKS disconnects off so unless you bought sway bar link disconnects that are a pain in the tail to remove, you can save your money on different disconnects as I can't imagine "turning a knob" being easier than the JKS disconnects.
FYI TeraFlex has swaybar links in 8"-10"-12.25" - 14.75" lengths and a kit to "park" them (#1601277) http://www.teraflex.biz/products/jk-...acket-kit.html

thanks man... i think that is the route i am going to go.. i like the fact they are adjustable so i can get my swaybar to the correct angle... my buddy says the jeep should ride better once those are put on.. i hope so but if not its cool..
