should I regear??

I have a 4 door with 3.73 gears x model. Right now I have 33s with a teraflex 3 in kit. I pull a small trailer for dirt bikes and looking to get a small enclosed trailer. It is liveable now but worried about the enclosed trailer. Is the regear worth the money, i see northridge has the kits for like 550.00 what gears should I go with , i will eventually go to 35.s when these shoes wear out

With the 4door auto I would definately go with 5.13 if you want to do 35s, especially if you're going to pull a trailer. You won't want to regear twice. I would wait and do them at the same time though.

Since you're asking this question, I'm going to assume that you don't have experience at installing gears. If that's the case, you better add in the very significant cost of hiring a professional to regear both axles. I do lots of work on my vehicles, including rebuilt a couple motors in my distant past, but not regearing. I trust those who say that this is not the job where you want some OJT (unless under the guidance of an experienced mechanic).

I think you'll be much happier with the Jeep if you go ahead and regear. I was going to suggest 4.88 but if you believe you will be towing a trailer alot, then consider 5.13s.

When I regear for 35's I will probably get 4.88's. I do not tow often

With an auto I would recommend 5.13s. Better performance and overall drive quality. You will also take more strain off of the overall drive train system as a whole with new gears, especially when towing.
