Frankly, I prefer moving tire/extra fuel weight to the frame, rather than maintaining it on the tailgate. Also, it appears that Smittybilt has removed the vent from the tailgate, making me wonder how door closing is going to go for those people with "tight" jeeps.

 

Dang, I'd think you'd be able to find a replacement tailgate at a salvage yard, painted your color already, for a lot cheaper than $550 for that smittybilt, no?
