Default Smittybilt xrc rear bumper and spare

I bought a used xrc bumper and carrier from a buddy which I refinished for my JKUR. Im also getting ready to move up to 35 Nitto Trail Grapps on my stock powdercoated moabs. Im concerned that due to the backspace of the stock wheel once I get the 35s the spare wont fit on the smittybilt spare mount. Can I use a spacer on the mount? Seems to me like the farther you hang a tire off that mount the more you stress the four bolts holding the spare mount to the carrier. I dont need to hit a bump and see my spare fall off. Anybody with this setup and pics of your mod would be great! Im attaching a pic of the spare mount as well.

Use grade 8 bolts and You won't have any problems, think about how much stress a grade 8 bolt has while winching, your tire is nothing compared to that.

I have read that guys will use spacers or washers to space the tire so it fits.

You'll be fine using a wheel adapter/"spacer". Keep in mind some of us run wheels with as low as 3.5" BS.

I did run a 1.5 inch spacer on the SB tire carrier but then got a 2" spacer-relocation bracket from SB. My 35's will be installed on stock wheels next week & I'll post back then. I have extra metal cloak bumpstops and may install one or two on the rotopax mounts to kill any vibration. Also the 1.5 spacer worked fine w/275/70s but I felt it may not on the 35's.
