Default Spacers, offset and widening questions.

Hey guys! Im helping my dad build an old cj5 (which he thinks will rival my jk off-road... Pshhh . He is about ready to order tires, 35s. Now, because the cj5 is so tiny and prone to tipping (plus it has a v8... Jealous) he would like to widen his wheel base. What is the best way to do this effectively, safely and the right way? Should he buy a rim with a negative offset, purchase spacers or both? We would probably make our own because he owns a machine shop and i run a CNC machine. Ge is looking for 2-4 inches wider on each side. Thanks guys! He says ti give you guys a big ole jeep wave from the CJ community!

A lower offset wheel would be ideal but the wheel spacers won't kill anyone. Since you guys are rebuilding the truck, maybe set some funds aside for wagoneer axles- full size and full width axles.

He owns the machine shop and you run the cnc machine, I trust then that both of you are aware of material properties and could choose the proper strength spacer.

Yea we would probably use 60/61 aircraft grade aluminum. I figure that would do it since it won't actually be bearing weight. And the cj doesn't need much work really now. Actually could probably drive it for another 100k miles as is but thanks for the axle idea. Nice
