i will turn the key and it sounds like it wants to start but cant, like a weak battery. but u put it in neutral and it starts with no problem, i recently installed a optima yellow a month ago and since then its dont about 5 times. any ideas?


btw its automatic

You may not have a great ground. These JKs are funny like that. Next time it does this, run a jumper cable from the negative post to a solid grounding point on the Jeep. Then see if it starts. Also like Toad says, could be the battery. You could have Autozone test the battery. They are built very well so likely not.

yea i am going to do the battery test tomorrow, i really cant see it being the battery although i have been wrong before. even when it refuses to start in park, i just shit it into neutral and it starts with no prob, it sounds like its got plenty of juice. i have never had to jump it.

oh and i had the starter checked a month ago when my old stock when gave up, it was god to go.

Mine used to do that alot then it just stopped. Sometimes shaking the battery around helped to other times it didnt. Putting it in neutral worked everytime though.
