Steps for the shorter people
 

So after my Evo lift and 37's, my wife and kids have a hard time climbing in. I'm 6'2" and have a hard time.

I need me some new sliders anyway, so I want to get something that will ease getting up into the jeep. We use ours more for trails and such...no rock crawling here so my concern of tearing them off is not huge. I had to trim some and remove the rubi rails to get the 37's to fit, so I don't think simple Sahara steps are gonna work. Anyone know of a slider that also provides a bit of a place to get a footing?

I just fabbed something up for my short girlfriend yesterday. Took a tow strap, cut it, and attached it to the seat. The bolt is going through three layers. Its pretty sturdy. She hasn't used it yet so idk if its actually going to be used all the time. id imagine that once you get used to hoppin in this way it will help. It can easily be stuffed under the seat.

M.O.R.E. ( Mountain Off Road Enterprises ) makes a nice click down step thingy

If you want to make the wife and kids really happy, save up, then save some more, then donate a kidney and get the RSE sliders with retractable steps.

The RSE sliders are pricey but well worth the cash. Excellent build quality and indestructible. I'm saving my pennies for a set now that the wife and kids have classified them as a need :D Look them up and see them in person at their shop or a trade show if you can. Make sure to bring the wife though so she can prioritize them accordingly :rock:

We've considered a lot of options, but they are all sorta hokey. Rails that serve as steps are almost as tall as the Jeep floorboards. Add-on steps all look like rock-catchers on the trail. You can carry a step on a cord so the last one in pulls it up.

Best solution we've found is better arm strength. Its kinda challenging for old farts like us, but for a young family a few minutes of "Jeep excercises" every night and you will be pulling yourselves up into your great-sounding Jeep without even thinking about it. (You hafta install handles on the roll bars and maybe some handles down lower for the little ones.)

I have the n-fab steps good quality and price...got them for my wife!

Since you have the rubi rails how about welding on some tubing and making a step

Here is what I did and I have a 4" lift on 37's and have no issue getting in really and I am 5'5
They are pitch downward at a 45deg angle and 3"s off from the rails
