Stock axles strong enought for 37's?
So I'm having a Rubicon Express 5.5" long arm suspention installed with new drive shafts front and rear. I originally ordered 35's and am currently waiting for the shop to get all the parts in before we schedule an install date. I know i have the clearance for 37's, but at first i was hesitant to go to them becuase i didnt want to upgrade my axles at this time. I figured i would run 35's, and when they wear out in a year or two (and the lift kit is paid off) i would get 37's and upgrade to new stronger axles.
I have the chance to change my order to 37's since all of the order isn't in the shop yet. Is anyone currently running 37's and had any kind of problems with their stock axles breaking? I dont want to be the guy that gets 35's and two weeks later kicks himself and wishes he got 37's.

i am currently running 37s, only wheeled on them about 5 times, so far ok, but i dont have a locker in the front yet, it also depends what type of wheeling, and how heavy a foot,
my tj ran locked with 35s dana 30 held up well, but parts were easy to get and get trail spares, well....jk can get the parts, but still pricey.
when i get some money saved i plan on upgrading driveshafts, and getting a jk dana 44 with the e-locker, looked at beefing up the jk dana 30, for a few hundred bucks more you can get the whole dana 44 axle brake to brake with a locker??

Depends how hard you wanna wheel it i suppose...... sounds like you will be ok with all the adjusdtable bits on the long arm kit.....if you wanna wheel it really hard though, id go the cromolly axles...

Stock axles with stock axleshafts are marginal at best for any length of time with 35s let alone 37s.
If you wheel, it wont be a matter of if it is going to happen it is when. It might not be the full shaft, it may only spit out the ujoints which damage the ears which in turn damage alot more, but it will be something.
The stock D44 with upgraded shafts however will work in most cases. Your rears will last much longer than the front however so if you are budgeting replace the fronts with stronger shafts before the rear.
Also avoiding large doses of skinny pedal while the front is locked up and the wheels being turned from steering stop to steering stop will also prolong drivetrain parts.
Good luck with whatever you decide. 37s look great on the JK, but consider the ramifications downstream before you make the jump. The JK is great to be able to stuff big tires under smaller lifts than any other Jeep in the past. It still requires you to plan.
