Stubby Front Bumper Under $500

I'm about to remove my stock plastic bumper and purchase a stubby so I can get that more "off-road" look and feel. Any suggestions for a good stubby bumper? I have found a few in Quadratec, wanted to see what everybody else thought.

Rugged Ridge Modular XHD Front Bumper: $409 and up
XRC Stinger Bumber: $399
Shorty Front Winch Bumper: $499
Highrock 4x4 Narrow Style Front Bumper: $249

The Rugged Ridge Modular XHD bumper is amazing....its sturdy, looks nice and holds the winch as well. I got mine when it was a little cheaper, and the extra bar there for 50$, which I could easily mount lights to. It went on easy as well. I have had it for about 2 years now...and as you can see I wheel it hard, and it looks great still.

I just put my new RR and winch on yesterday. Like the previous person said it went on easy. It seems very heavy duty and we will see how it holds up. RR is suppose to be releasing some stubby ends for it this month that I think I'm gonna try. I'm liking it so far.

Hadn't seen ACE before - looks like some nice work at a good price, be interested to see if they come out with a rear and tire carrier.

Instead, evne though I know you dont want to hear it. Spend 300-400 bucks on some used welding equipment and learn to weld!! You'd use a skill trade like that if you plan on ever doing more with your wrangler.
At least thats my plan. I'm hoping to be able to build my own stubby this summer sometime. 3/16 steels bent over a few times and welded on the side to clean it up. Weld on a bar and shackles and BAM! Materials will cost half of what the cheapest bumper out there cost.

My jeep swag front stubby bumper with winch mount was only $150.00 u cant beat that. www.jeepswag.com

Ok what about a cheaper matching rear bumper since we are at it?

aermotor 06-01-2011 07:55 PM

OR-Fab matching rear sheet metal bumper for around $400 or less!

Evo Stubby - Thick and HEAVY. Good construction, but terrible paint job.

$350 aint bad.

I got mine $327 shipped to my house, bumper and hoop. I like that it is modular and uses the stock fog lights. Also the winch sits IN the bumper and not on top. Much better integrated and doesn't block the grill as much.

There's a online store on ebay "something Outfitters" that I bought it from. One of the best buys I made for the Jeep. I bought it over a year ago so I don't know if the price is the same today.
