Default Super chip for hemi

I'm sure this has been talked about before but can't seem to find it.

I have a 5.7 hemi in a 2011 JKU.
What's the recommended "superchip"?

If it's an AEV swap I'm pretty sure you can't use any aftermarket flash tuner other than the ProCal.

Yeah its the AEV kit. That procal is pretty useless except for some tire/gear configuration.
I've had so many problems with their hemi kit, I'd advise against it to anyone considering. If I could go back and redo it, I'd go for something else. It's pretty expensive too but I've realized that also with other AEV items.

Yeah your not gonna get any power from the ProCal.

I've got an AEV Hemi, no problems. But if you want to put any kind of tuner to it your gonna need a new computer and have someone like Jeep speed, or V8HJ build you a new one that's not locked so you can use a tuner.

Also having a tuner tune a computer for you will unlock some HP as well. AEV has the bare bones set on the ecms just to make them run and they run lean as shit.

Your looking at about a $1000 for a computer. Good luck!

I have had the AEV kit installed for 6 years with zero issues. I found a place in Michigan that could do a custom tune on my rig but they said it would likely result in permanently loosing traction control and possibly some dash lights on. I value the TC in the winter on slippery roads as it tames the beast.

At least way back in 09 I believe AEV had to compromise some tuning to make everything work with the JK and avoid throwing codes or lighting up dash idiot lights.

I feel my hemi runs strong and the only reason I would change the tune is to better map the 545 tranny shift points to the 6.1.

I am kind of surprised you are having issues. What kind of problems do you have, and have you talked to AEV?

I'm with you on the kit being really refined and nicely integrated. AEV does mostly new vehicles with Chrysler warranty so everything has to be factory emission compliant. My 6.4L runs good and there are many if these conversions out there.

AEV does not do emissions compliant tuning in Cali...

They actually have very few monitors turned on. Bare bones.

And the warranty is not through Chrysler. Any part failures that are a result of anything AEV, is covered by AEV. Nothing to worry about there so long as they stay in business.

I was fortunate that a Jeep dealer performed my engine conversion so they take care of it as if it came in the Jeep. I can get a lifetime warranty on it if I want to. AEV is growing like crazy with over 90 dealers now. A lot of people on the Forums complain about their lifts, cost of products, etc; but I haven't had any issue with the quality or performance. I wander how California Jeep Dealers sell new AEV Jeeps if they are not emission compliant? The EPA always makes having fun with a vehicle a pain in the Ass!

AEV does not sell new Hemi swapped vehicles in Cali.

V8 swapped jeeps in Cali are rare, AEV swapped jeeps are EXTREMELY rare... Just depends on who you know.

I'll tell you it was a HUGE pain in the ass getting my jeep into Cali with an AEV swap, still trying to get it done legit, gonna cost me a few grand to get it right to get my carb sticker.
