Default supercharge or not?

I've done a lot to my JK and next thing I'm looking forward to is adding some horsepower.. i want to re-gear and was also thinking supercharger.. now my question is, should i? i understand that it will do more stress to your engine but for some one who is not a lead foot or a puddle jumper, would it still do more stress? to me it is a cheaper and better way to gain HP if your not looking to spend the money for a Hemi swap. am i going to run into mechanical issues ( JK has 25k on it currently) or any thing along that line? also what supercharger would you recommend? i hear a lot of good about Ripp, but have also about the other competitors.. would i also have to re-gear to something bigger since i'm putting out more horses? i also plan to install myself, if any one out there has done one, is it something a professional should do or can a guy with some car knowledge bang it out? question, comments, concerns; would love to hear.. need advice!!!

Supercharging in the range of boost that these kits make is pretty safe (5-8 PSI). re-gearing is nice, but it's not a real substitute for additional ponies.
