Well I have the 285 70r17 Duratracs so it may be a little bit different, but I stick with the tow tune for both performance and efficiency. I usually run midgrade gas in it and so far that is the best tune for me for both "around town" and trips. I am also interested in what others have to say about tuning specifically for a long trip though.

not to side step your question (PM me if you prefer) but: I am actually getting ready to upgrade to 315 dura's in a week or two . How is the performance and mpg on the 3.73's with the super chips? You having to kick off OD much? I guess I'm about to find out soon enough..been dreaming about 35's for some time now and I CANT WAIT!!

I concur with the tow tune. Did a trip from Montreal, Quebec to Myrtle Beach last year. On the way there used the mileage saver tune, struggled to get anywhere with an incline. Tow tune on the way back. Night and day difference. Saved on gas too.

I have been running the Superchips for 3 years now. 08 A/T 3.73 gears and 35x12.5x17. Always run OD off on highway 17-18mpg average.

On winter fuel I run 87 performance. There is no gains on winter fuel to run tow tune or 91 octane. Performance/mileage is the same.
On summer fuel I run Tow tune on 91 octane and do notice a difference in mileage and performance.

I will be experimenting with the transmission tuning this afternoon.

Man I like the sound of 18 and 19 mpg on 35s/3.73! If you could let us know how it goes with the advanced transmission Tuning experiment I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
