Default Supertop or Superturd

Am i the only gulible person who has bought the Bestop Supertop? I've had problems with this thing since day one and i've been searching for someone who shares my pain. As a summary, the header bar on the drivers side sits about half an inch from the windshield and the support bars look like they were designed by someone who failed HS geometry. To make it even worse everytime i call Quadratec to ask them to send a new header I get a latch. So far i've recieved 5 new latches, which are all identical to the first one..........well second one because the first one fell apart on day one. I recently called, mad, and requested a header and only a header and the only thing they sent was the screw on fabric retainer for the header bar. If you are in the market, don't buy this POS. It's been a regret for 4 months. Hardtop is on now.

If you have the Supertop, please let me know if you share my pain or you have a solution to my problem. The other unfortunate person on the forum ended up sending his back and buying a new take-off. I'm about a day away from this

I think it was on sale for $750. Yeah i've been looking, but it seems like 2dr black tops with tinted windows are hard to come by. I've been contemplating buying one and just ordering the tinted windows.

I had the MOPAR soft top, and, the water was coming in. After 2 months, I sold it and I bought the Supertop. It took about 6 weeks to adjust it. You are write, it's extremely difficult. But now, I'm satisfied. If you have questions, PM me, maybe I can help you

Did you ever find a solution for the header gap? The reason I am asking is I just got done installing my Supertop and guess what? I have a nice 1/2 inch skylight above the drivers side windshield.

Sorry to hear.........I ended up sending it back. I think the reason no one else is having problems is no one has this top. Quadratec made it right, they paid to pick up the top and refunded it, but i lost the initial shipping money. I bought a trektop and it should be here today. I hope it was designed better. If you want to help the header leak you can run to home depot and buy a nylon spacer from the hardware section. Cut a notch out of the spacer and slide it over the stock latch bar on the top of the windshield. That will allow you to tighten the header a 1/8" or so. Still leaked like crazy, but i didn't think the wind was going to rip it off on the highway. Here's a picture of the bandaid fix. Just turn the nylon spacer around so the gap is on the top.

One of the guys from this forum PM'ed me and told me to adjust the bar that holds the header and make it sit higher so it will clear the door surrounds. I looked and don't know how that's possible since the bar is connected to the rollbar bracket and the bar has no adjustment. PM me if i can help.

Default I vote Superturd

After spending all day yesterday trying to figure out how to fix it, I gave up on the Supertop and went down to the dealership and got the Mopar soft top. Not only does it fit tight where it is supposed to, it is just better constructed. The door surrounds are much stronger and easier to install and remove, the bow tubing is much thicker, and all of the the holes lined up perfectly, which is more than I can say for the supertop.
If you are looking for a soft top, save your money and buy Mopar.
