Have an auto in my 07' 2dr w/ 4:10s and love it. Power seems fine to me. I high speed pass people easily all the time. Even after installing the 33s I rarely have to hit the OD to pull any hills.

You might say "this guy doesn't know about power" But I grew up in the age of the 69' muscle car, so believe me, I know power.

I'm always pretty surprised when so many say how the JK can't get out of it's own way. Well...I did notice a bit more power when I installed the Airaid w/ throttle body riser. Maybe that made the difference but even stock it didn't seem that bad. I still plan on the Hypertech tho.

This is the first Auto I have owned, and I did it for off-road. On road this is a Jeep, not a Race Car.

My fastest was my YJ with a 5 speed, the LJ's 6 speed sucked. Logging truck feel, so it was no good on the street. Not sure how the JK manual is, but I didn't want to take the chance.

Love the Auto.

Also has to do with being lazy like me. I got an auto in my CJ by accident (found a good deal) Turns out for hunting/running thru the pasture autos are awesome. Can go slow and quiet without the stick/clutch hassles.

The reason I went with an auto in the JK was because it was the only white one they had that day. I actully didn't care one way or the other. They both have pros and cons. One pro I noticed was the lifetime warranty covered the TC, but not the clutch - less long tern expense for me.

The LJ manual tranny is the same as the JK, a Mercedes NSG370...

Yea, that's what I thought. Great for low range though.
