I use conventional oil 5W-20 or 10W-30 and after 15k miles, my jeep is running perfect :)

Check out this link. It has some interesting information about engine break in and synthetic oil. http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

I used conventional for the first 6k and the started on Mobile 1

I haven't hit 10k but I plane to keep up the 3k changes since I only live 2 miles from work and all those short trips can be hard on the oil and engin. I should just ride a bike.

1. When should I do my first oil change?
2. Can I switch to synthetic right away, or should first use a synthetic blend before going 100% synthetic?
3. At what intervals should I change my syn oil and filter? Can I wait for the oil change light, or do it every 6K miles, or at other intervals?

Did my first oil change at 1500 miles, the second one at 3k miles, third one at 6k miles using conventional oil. On my fourth oil change switched to Fully synthetic oil at 9k miles. (always used the Mopar oil filter). Plan on changing the oil every 6k miles per the manual, unless in extreme conditions will change every 3~3.5k miles....

I've used Mobile 1 Full Synthetic since its first oil change in 07. Never had a problem. Winters here are tough so I usually warm her up for about 5 min before I head off anywhere. 19k and the engine purrs like it was new.
