The SWTJ problem!
I now have a severe case of the short-wife-tall-jeep syndrome since I put 35s on the JK. I need some kind of steps, elevator, escalator, crane, spring board...
Anyone have any experience with Warrior products? They make both a nerf bar with a step and a rock bar with built in step. Any suggestions? warriorproducts.com/images/catalog/7500-2.jpg http://www.warriorproducts.com/image...log/7500-2.jpg warriorproducts.com/images/catalog/kguard5.jpg http://www.warriorproducts.com/image...og/kguard5.jpg |
While I myself am vertically challenged, I found in my hubby's old TJ, that I didn't like using the steps - I thought about it for my JK, but -just a good set of grab handles and some practice, and that was the easiest - and cheapest route to get me in the jeep.

What about a stock style set? how much off roading do you do?
Out of those 2 i do like the 2nd ones. |
Thanks for the advice, Grace. My wife is OK with just the grab handles but after a few times getting in and out she gets a bit tired.
We take the JK wheeling a lot. That's why I am looking for something stronger than the factory steps. |
Well if you go wheelin alot the 2nd looks like it could hang you up with that drop down like that.

There is an easy solution to this one: get rid of the wife! :)

I"m lift'd with 35's. I have to stretch to get in (I'm 6'1") My wife can't get in. I use a small RubberMaid stool. I have to get out first and help her in/out...but it works out ok. And it's a cheap fix. |
sounds like a good excuse to go with AiRock.

buy your wife 6" stilleto's.
:D ...just a thought. |
You need one of these:
http://www.stylintrucks.com/handlers...ZtPTEzJm89MA== You can get one here: stylintrucks.com/parts.aspx/partfamilyid/1612/subcategoryid/351/categoryid/25 I think there are other manufacturers of this, but I am not finding any today. If my Jeep gets any taller, I may have to get one for my wife and kids. Later- Tom PS if anyone gets one of these post up how well it works. |
Here is the mfg I was looking for...

Have you looked at the reversa bars? They can be used either as steps or rocker guards.
|
I got them same problem 4" lift w/ 37 and a lady that barely 5' tall grab handle and shockwork are working for her but I think she could use aditional help with a stirup that wraps around the bar
|
Don't make it easy for her to get in it. If you do, she will take over your jeep and make you drive the minivan!:eek2:

I purchased the Barz for the same reason. So far no issues with them. They are heavy and i have scratched the crap out of them. But so far, they are holding.
|
How about the power steps that fold down when you open the door and then fold out of the way when you close the door. I have these on my lifted truck and they work great. They sell them for the JK now and I think Quadratec has them.

Best top brand sells a electric step

The Reversa Bars and a grab handle works great for my wife and solved my problem:D http://my.project-jk.com/data/500/me..._Bar_Front.JPG |
You shouldn't have an issue turning the reversa bars up.

Im looking at these too for the same reason, I brought up 35's again yesterday and I got a look from her... It is her daily driver, so I guess I have to compromise... :naw: What do you have to do to switch the bars to the up position? And are they frame mount?
Yes, there are no holes to drill they bolt through the factory holes in the frame and the bolt holes for the rock rails. To reverse them all you would do is flip them up and swope sides of the Jeep. If you get them follow the instructions, the one side took me about 40 minutes and the other side took about 15. |
