Teraflex or rock krawler rear track bar bracket?
Currently have a 2.5" Teraflex bb that I bought an installed in late November 2011. I recently bought a RK 2.5" max travel kit and it also came with a rear track bar bracket.
I thought about just leaving the TF one on and selling the RK one with the rest of the BB. Is there any advantage to one over the other? I read somewhere that frame side vs axle side can make a difference? |
The RK bracket is heavy duty, and you can weld to make it stronger, in fact, RK recommend the welding for off road use. Plus, RK have lifetime abuse proof warranty on all hard parts. So i said RK all the way.

If you are getting rear shocks that are body up and shaft down, you may hit the shock body with the track bar using a frame mount track bar lowering bracket. |
I run a TeraFlex' HD rear brkt with my 3" lift. Works great for me. Very stout, have the tracl bar set in the middle position.

 i already have bilstein shocks, and as far as i can tell, there aren't any clearance issues. i can't recall which one RK told me was the best, frame or axle, or what the reason was... anyone else have an idea? |
I have the TF frame mount track bar bracket and it does not interfere with the shocks, etc, at all. It was an easy install and recentered my axle very nicely, especially for the cost and effort involved.
I have about 2.75" lift on my JK. The only issue I had was when I rotated my rear axle to gain a better pinion angle the track bar nut on the frame was grabbing the edge of the bumpstop. A little grinding to the bumpstop block fixed that. |

Thanks for the replies.
Anyone want to chime in on why one is better over the other - if that is the case. If there is no advantage to pulling the TF frame side bracket and using the RK axle side, then I will leave it as is. One less step. Last question from me on this. I also have the extended sway at links from TF currently installed but would consider replacing them with the ones that RK sent if there is an advantage there again. The RK links are an inch or so shorter than the TF ones installed now. In addition the TF have zero grease fittings and the RK seem to have a poly bushing with no grease or fitting. Maybe none is needed? Any thoughts on that as well? |
