Is there a way

Is there a way to remove the clear coat and the gloss black paint, without removing the flat black primer coat, which I like! Or, do i have to strip back to bare metal and re-prime and paint.
What is the best way to get back to bare metal? paint remover, soda blasting, sand blaster, etc. |
I would just sand them and after bed line then

I think the Red clay around here would be hard to get off the bed liner paint.

If you want it to look perfect I would take it down to bare metal. The easiest would be to have them sand blasted. The soda blaster would not be abrasive enough to take the paint off efficiently if at all. After that you can just paint them with the color you have in mind.
If you wheel often and have lots of rocks then you shouldn't be to concerned because they will get beat up on the trails. A quick spray paint of the wheel will be the best option. Keep the can in your garage so that you can touch up every time you get back from a trip. |
Brother, if you want to remove the paint, use Dads paint remover. You don't have to do a thing except apply, wait and wipe off. Bare metal in seconds!
