Default thinking about buying a snorkel

any personal preference? certain ones look better then others? can you post some pictures if you do.

and also the install. does anyone have a good website to go to to see how to make the cut and everything. don't exactly know what i am doing.

ive got right around 400 to spend soo. the aev would probably be my best bet. ill look a little more.

I bought the ebay snorkel (AEV copy). It's a very easy install. The toughest part is starting the drill on a flawless hood

Yes much cheaper. I got mine for around 180. Very happy with the quality!

What about one that runs thru the cowl so u don't have to cut the hood! Just an idea! I think I would rather have to buy another cowl than a hood if that was the situation!

if you are content with holding out a little bit longer (hopefully a little bit), Rugged Ridge is making their new cowell snorkel...terribly excited for it. hopefully wont be over $400-500

Buy AEV. You get what you pay for.

I can't be happier with my AEV snorkel, especially the customer support I've received a year later!

The only issue I've ever had with this snorkel is the rubber "gasket" that goes between the snorkel column and the mating Prefilter. It seemed to dry up and crack with exposure to the elements (Mind you I put 20,000 mi on my Jeep in 2011). AEV is taking care of me. They responded to my emails right away.

And yes, I've actually used my snorkel on more than one occasion.
