SpiderTrax here too. I rotate my own, not because I have been turned down by any shop, I just don't trust them.

See, this is the kind of thing I'm talking about, TRUST.

This shop obviously has no idea how their alignment equipment works, are you going to trust them tightening down (with a torque wrench) your lug nuts ???

yea discount tire doesn't mount tires with spacers as company policy

Sounds like it's hit or miss with chains. I think some will do it without even realizing they aren't supposed to. I talked to one guy today and he said bring it in, then another guy from the same place said it's against policy. I can align it myself. It's just the rotating that is kind of a pain.
