Default Tough stuff hood mount

Just recently got my hood mount in the mail. Today was warm enough to try to put it on but I found that my T50 bolts to the hood latches are painted on. I've tried a few ways to try and get it lose. I really don't want to buy the ratchet for the t50 to break the paint. Any other ways I can get those bolts off?

You can try using an exacto knife and go around the edges of the bolt head really slowly. you can also use masking tape around the torx bit to help not dig into the paint. there really isnt a good way to do it, youll have to touch it up once you get those bolts out.

I was able to put the torx bit on the end of a breaker bar and gently get the bolts out. Worked like a charm and did not damage the bolts! Now getting the hinges off because they were painted to the hood was a little bit of a struggle. I had to gently pry them off with a screwdriver and putty knife. Obviously while doing everything to protect paint on hood and hinge. Really wasn't too bad at the end of the day. Just be careful with the paint

I'm not too patient and could have been gentle.... screw it....

When muscle wouldn't unscrew the hood bolt, stepped up to a 2ft long pipe for leverage -- still wouldn't break the bolt's grip. Frustrated, I used a grinder to remove the bolt top, and get remove the hood. Good luck.

Wow. You got after it. Mine really did come off pretty easily with a breaker. I am very happy that I didn't have to start grinding stuff!!

KC lights include the wiring and a decent pictorial, go slow and recheck your connections to the diagram, you'll have no problem.

I just bought them off someone. He's moving and couldn't find the harnesses to go with them. So right now I just have the lights.
