Tow hooks????

I would like to install tow hooks front and rear on my X...or atleast something that is suitable and approved for trail rides etc. What is the easiest way to install these without tearing up the bumpers???? Is there any other way?? does anyone have pics???

Thanks in advance.:yup:

I'm in the same boat, Horsty. I've got an 07 X with no tow hooks either. I know they sell square mounting plates for the D rings (with 4 bolts). Can I just bolt those (after drilling holes) to the stock JK bumper? Will that be enough support, or do they actually need to mount to the frame? I'm just looking for a simple way to use my stock bumper and get some D-rings up front. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There has to be a way to mount under the bumper or something I hope someone can help?????

You can buy the tow hooks from your dealer... that's what i did anyway. The rear end bolts right on, no cutting no fuss. The front you have to take the bumper off and cut out the square little divits. The only thing you can mess up is cutting the hole to big (which of course i did). Then they just bolt right on. I think the front hooks were about $80 and the rear was in that range too.
Make sure you go look at some on the lot with tow hooks... you don't need to cut out the whole hole. Whole hole:rotflmao1:
It is almost too easy:yup:

Personally, if it's for recovery uses and you don't want to get a new bumper I'd go with something like this:

and then:

Cost you about $125, compared to the $160 for the hooks. I know, doesn't help with the front....No drilling either.

PS, if it's hooks you want, check eBay or the for sale section here on the site.

why bother.

stick the loop of your strap IN the receiver hole and then put the cross pin through the loop of the strap.
No clevis, no extra crap to carry and it is one of the safest ways to secure a strap.

and front hooks can be found here in the for sale forum all the time, mine will be up in a month or so

I've got the factory rubicon tow hook (rear) for sale if you want it. I'll also have the fronts for sale after Camp Jeep.
