TPMS Question
I'm in the process of installing my new tires but I'm told that I have to transfer the TPMS from the old to the new or buy new sensors. I'm on a budget and I'm hearing new sensors could run a lot of money, however they will still have to replace all of the stems because once they come apart they can't be put back together. Also it seems I have to replace the sensor for the new spare as well.
My question is : Is there any way around the TPMS system? Either disabling the little light in the dash or pulling the fuse? I'm old school, I usually check the pressure in my tires regularly and I never had to deal with a sensor in my tires before.

) Superchips® Flashpaq Programmer $339.99AEV - $149.00
Although I realize these devices do a host of other things with the on-board computer like running lights and changing idle speeds.. I am considering the AEV to fix the issue since it'll cost me anyway to deal with the TMPS problem anyway.
It looks like your from Jersey. Do you have a state inspection there. Here in Utah, they will check for your TPMS to be functional, and if not, they will not issue you a state inspection certificate. Could be more costly in the end run to avoid having them transfer your TPMS units to your new wheels and pay the 15.00 per new valve stems.

The first set of wheels i had i transfered the tpms no prob. i switched wheels and tires with a buddy for a week just for fun he had no sensors and my light never came on so when i put my new wheels on i diddnt transfer the sensors and still no light on in the dash. its like if the sensor is not there you get no low air signal. unless you have inspection problems why bother with them. if you need a special little sensor in your cute little all terrains with your shinny chrome rims to let you know you have a slack tire keep it stock and go crawl some curbs at the mall. lol
