Trail Dash 2 (TD2) without ECU/ECM unlock
I am considering purchasing a TD2 (yes an older model), since I have some after-market rims, tires, and lights. I also want to monitor some gauges that I can't see directly on my Wrangler (2017 JKU). However, my situation is that I am currently traveling for the next few weeks and doubt I will have time to purchase a new ecm/ecu or send mine in which is not really an option at the moment since I won't be at the same place to receive it back. I have heard it is useful and I see the value in it for me even if I am only able to use some of the functions for the time being until I get a new ecm.
My questions are: Can I still use the TD2 to alter the tire, rims, and lights for recalibration? I read on another forum that is possible (which I assume is correct because the Superchips flash cal does all these functions without an ecm/ecu unlock). Also, what would be the limitations if it were to work without the ecm unlock? Anything else I should know about the TD2?
