Trektop nx question

Tried search function and didnt see this asked. The 2 straps on the flap that hook into rollbar. Are these even for real? They are all the way tight and dont even hook on. Am i missing something? And does the edge of the top sit inside the drip edge on the top of the doors?

Those two hooks are supposed to go inside the holes that are normally occupied by the hard top screws. You know, the two giant plastic things that you hand thread into the sound bar to keep the hard top down? I wish I had a picture, haha. I guess the point of the hooks are to keep the top from flapping when the front portion is open and you're on the highway.

Also, yes the top is supposed to sit inside / above the rain gutter. If there is any slack at all, it's probably because the tension cable came undone, or is not going under the bolt that sticks out of the rear door surround.

There is a GREAT video on youtube from Bestop that shows two guys putting it together.

I posted the same question when I put mine on. They're stupid and I thought I was doing something wrong. But when you "clasp em" in and you're going down the highway, the top lifts because of the airflow and they tighten up. I haven't had a problem with em. I was sure I was doing something wrong but that's the way they are suppose to look. You would think best top would have made a better solution.
