Default Trektop suggestions? Last chance for Bestop.

Anyone have an idea on how to make that header stopping leaking and letting wind blow through like a wind tunnel?

Is there a different company that makes a similar top? Bestop does not seem to want to help. This is my second top from them and probably the 12th variant.

have you tried a different header? It seems like there were several options when I bought my safari top. Not sure if that one works the same

I've never seen one leak or "wind tunnel" when installed correctly. I would take it completely apart and start over. Unless you have a bad header piece, that's about all it can be. I've had mine for two years, as dozens here have, without issue.

Ooooo...this is a good way to keep a conversation going. Just mention this company and the replies will just poor in. For the new Jeepers among us (vets please correct me if anything has changed) this company is thought of poorly due their questionable customer service and sales practices. I personally have had no contact with them thanks to the advice and anecdotes relayed on this forum. In their defense however, there have been a few folks on here that have had good experiences with them. The vast majority have not. To summarize pages and pages of comments :Bottom line is buyer beware when dealing with this company.

That is a very good summation of them:

WARNING: BUYER BEWARE
The manufacturer of this product is believed to be a Canadian based company called Californiatops. This conclusion was determined by doing research online and by what the author of this post eventually stated in his post here.

Californiatops is a company that has a long history of questionable business practices and they have been banned from eBay and PayPal. This has been documented by the Ripoff Report and can be verified by doing a simple Google search or a search on forums such as JeepsUnlimited.com and RubiconOwners.com. More recently, a member here had purchased a thermal liner from this company while they were still going under the name coloradojeepman and his experience with them can be found here.

I have personally tried contacting this company to acquire a phone number and/or physical address for their stated location in Florida just in case the information I had about them was erroneous and my inquiries were met with hostility and my questions went unanswered. Needless to say, it is our opinion that this company has questionable business practices and would advise against purchasing any of their products.

I got my trektop in april of 09 and had it on my silver X with no issues and now it is on my 2010 Rubicon and again with no problems, No more wind noise than the factory soft top on a friends sahara, and leak I have never had a leak. My trek top has the velcro on the tail gate, works great.

The communication with California tops or Offroad Heros is poor and their customer service blows, but they make a very versatile and well-made top. It just takes forever to arrive. They have been much better answering emails lately and a buddy of mine has run their top for about 2 years now. When I go for a frameless soft top, I am seriously considering getting it, I just hope the 2 door ones come down in price a bit - for some reason it costs the same as the 4 door version.

That being said, the Trektop has consistently improved since the first version with the velcro piece. For my next top, even with the issues with both tops, I think I am about 70% toward claifornia tops/offroad heros and 30% Trektop.

Just got my THIRD header. Each time the wind noise gets worse. I've put the top on several times and get the same result.

I guess the Trektop should come with black duct tape to put across the header seal.
