Trouble deciding on a lift kit
I'm slowly piecing together parts to build my jeep up and its time for a lift,I know this has been beat to death but I'm looking for a 2.5in lift. I'm going to be running 35s. I have it narrowed down to pretty much two lift kits
the first is a JKS 2.5 lift, running just under $1200 it comes with dual rate coils, fox shocks , JKS track bar and disconnects, plus all the little stuff,(brake line relocators , bumpstops , and rear track bar bracket.
Next is the Rock Krawler Max travel 2.5 in lift WITH the emulsion shocks. my problem is price with this one, is it really worth $1000 more? it does come with control arms but I have heard some good and bad things about RK....

Between those two I would choose the JKS myself. If you do some research on multiple forums you can draw a pretty clear conclusion on which of those two has the least & most issues. I personally run the EVO Enforcer 3" kit, another great kit with a solid reputation.

Once you add arms and brake lines and whatever else is missing to the JKS, doesn't it get pretty close to matching the price of the RK kit? Apples to apples comparisons are easier to work with, then you are just deciding on a mfg instead of what used to be a substantial price difference...
Have you considered adding MetalCloak to your shortlist?

Metalcloak is another good choice. I have driven my friends JKU with the MC 2.5 with the EMU shocks, nice ride. Another huge factor to consider when choosing a manufacturer is the control arm bushings. I have had the Rock Krawler, Metalcloak and EVO control arms and the RK were my least favorite because of the joints. Coils are another big factor, MC has a very good reputation, meaning you won't find nearly any bad reviews on their lifts. I am a huge fan of anything EVO based off the quality of all the products I own of theirs. Their Enforcer lift satisfies all my needs, I would buy it again.

well my buddy runs a RK lift and has had a nightmare with his bushings.
I just looked into the MC lift and it seems like a great deal and a quality company. Just stinks that theres a 2-3 week wait. I guess it will be worth it though.
Added to my list for now.

Be sure to do some more research on this. Some coils are designed to handle weight, so that you are at the desired 2.5" after adding all the extras. Others might start at 2.5", and you end up riding on the bumpstops.

Jks makes a great product. I did a lot of research over a year's time and while I eventually decided on MC Game Changer 2.5 my second choice was jks. MC has more than exceeded our expectations. The 2.5 gave a tremendous amount of lift.
