Upgrading to 37s
So I'm set up with an OME 2.5" lift and am running 35s right now. I'm getting new tires and going up to 37s with flats. I have a D44 so no worries up front. The tires will be 37x12.50x17 and am wondering what kind of backspacing ill need for this to work. Any thoughts or anyone running a 2.5 with 37s that can help me out? Thanks
Even though you have a d44 up front, you may still want to sleeve and gusset/truss the front axle.
Might want to regear depending on your engine.
If you don't have a calibration tool, you may want one to adjust everything
For 37s, youll need a nice tire carrier.
Trimi the pinch seam and rocker rails/guards.
With backspacing, I think youll want 3.75-4.5 inches of bs. You can always add washers to your steering stops.
You may need a different bumper setup to allow more clearance. And proper bumpstops with our lift height
---->I have rk 2.5 inch coils with 1 inch rear spacers and a 1 inch body lift. 4.88s, sleeves, gussets, and a superchips tuner, bumpers that allow more clearance and cut pinch seams/rocker guards.. Since im running toyo 37x13.5 on 4.5 backspaced wheels I have to limit my steering with a lot of washers. Since yours will only be 12.5 inches wide you should be fine with 4.5 .

I have a 2.5" lift and 37's with stock wheels and spidertrax 1.5" spacers but I had to put 3 washers in each steering stop so the tires don't rub the frame.
Most people say 4.5" backspace wheels work but some don't. I think 3.5" to 4" would work.
Also some guys are running 4.5"-5" backspaced wheels with spacers too just so the tires don't rub and to have a wider stance

I thought about spacers but doesn't that just weaken the axle? And I'm already regeared go 5.13s and have a hypertech tuner. And I also thought about adding a 1.25" RC body lift but I don't wanna be off the frame like that
Even though you have a d44 up front, you may still want to sleeve and gusset/truss the front axle. At least gusset the C's. A truss is a good idea, too, but ou can get by for at least a little while if you're careful
Might want to regear depending on your engine. Might nothing......37's will suck the life out of your engine, no matter which one it is. If you have the 3.8L with 6-speed, 4.88's are about perfect. With the A/T, you want at least 5.13's, but from experience, 5.38's would be better. With the 3.6L, 4.88's seem to be the go-to ratio.
If you don't have a calibration tool, you may want one to adjust everything You'll want to at least adjust your speedo and shift points with 37's
For 37s, youll need a nice tire carrier. Agreed. 37's are farkin' heavy!
Trim the pinch seam and rocker rails/guards. Definitely a must.

Even then, with a 37x12.50, you'll rub the frame in the front a little. Can adjust the steering stops, but keep in mind you lose turn radius that way, too.

It probably would, but you might get a gap between the body and the bumpers, which doesn't really hurt anything other than aesthetics. If you can live with that, it's not a bad option. But at the same time, you start messing with center of gravity, too.
Well if I went up to a 3.5" lift, what are the requirements? Just the new coils, extended brake lines, control arms, I already have a new front shaft, what else would I need? Probably new shocks for a 3-4" lift. Anything else?
