Still have to disagree. I'm running 40s one tons and a JKU with auto and 5.38s. I can drive 80 mph on the freeway to work 90 miles away with no issue. I have yet to have any lack of power or dependability on a trail either.

Are there better transmissions out there? You bet there are but telling someone that its not possible and not reliable is not accurate information.

It has alot to do with your driving style. If you drive with the skinny pedal and just point and shoot then the JK isnt the best vehicle choice for you anyhow. The JK is or will it ever be a speed demon. I have driven many with Hemis and LS motors and honestly the 3.8 doesnt do as bad as people think.

I never said you cant run 40's witht he 3.8 auto, I said I would not recommend it.
I have run 40's on the 6 speed for a couple of years and it is definatly lacking in power, it is ok in very flat areas but if you have any elevation or steep grades the 3.8 struggles and down shifting is a must. Up here dropping two gears is the norm to make the climb over the hill.

Sorry if you get butt hurt because someone doesn't like what your set up is.

Trust me I'm far from butt hurt. Flat out telling some one that it can't and shouldn't be done is just plain old misinformation. A coin has two side and apparently you only see one side.
