What 35" Tires Do You Use and Recommend On Your JK?
Hi Everyone,
I'm new here at JK- I'm buying my first Jeep ever! I have been lurking for a few weeks in the threads and learning ALOT of valuable information. I have the bug really bad, I'm getting a 2012 unlimited in the next few weeks. I'm doing a little research to make sure I make the right decision before purchasing.
I want to put 35's and a 2.5" lift on the Jeep- preferably at the time of purchase from the dealer so I can avoid possible warranty issues down the road. I drove a Arctic Jeep Unlimited and I was surprised how nice it really drove! (I believe it comes with 31's from Jeep) I am somewhat concerned about the ride quality going to the 35's and wanted your opinions. Please choose which tire you have in the poll and explain WHY you like or dislike them. I'm strictly looking for ride quality, road noise, how long they last, etc... of course I'm open to any suggestions. If I did miss a quality tire in my poll, please let me know.
P.S. - does your JK fit into your garage with a lift and 35's? (how tall is your garage door?)
Thank you in advance for your input!

Duratrac's because I live in a place where it can be winter 6 months out of the year. If I didn't have to worry about heavy snow and ice I'd go with the KM2's. If I had more money (so I can upgrade the axles and what not) I'd rock the Toyo's but I'd go up to 37's.

Duratracs -
Pros: Great daily driver tire, runs quiet, seems like they're good for 50k miles, relatively light, better than any mud terrain in frozen precip, good in most off road terrain, but not great in serious mud or rocks, decent pricing.
Cons: Average traction in deep mud, sidewalls rumored to be weak and easily cut, high demand=limited availability

You'll find that most will answer with what they have. I have Dick Cepek Mud Countries and love them so far. Most tires are good. You just have to make sure you keep them aired properly and keep them rotated regularly. I know a lot of guys swear on the Goodyears. Maybe the the Duratracs and MTRs are good, but I've been around tires a LOT since I was about 18 years old have never liked Goodyear. Like I said though, a lot of guys use the two mentioned and seem to have good luck with them. Good luck with whatever you choose.
