What Black Wheels Are Closest to OEM Wheel Specs?

I am still shopping for a set of black 17" wheels to replace my OEM Rubicon wheels. I'm tempted to buy a powdercoated set of OEMs off of Ebay, but that will cost $1000 shipped to my door---not cheap. I don't want to get into painting them myself---been there done that and don't want to repeat. So, I am really wondering what 17" wheel out there is the closest thing to stock? I have seen the Mamba wheels that look very similar in terms of backspacing.

Any ideas or solid advice here?

Why not have your wheels powder coated?

Most of the black aftermarket rims for the JK run from 5" down to 3.75" of backspacing. Factory backspacing is 6.25" The Cragars soft 8's are available in 5", most alloy rims run 4.5" or less. If you are running the stock Rubi tires, 5" won't poke out past the fenders , but will be close.

It seems to be more cost effective simply to buy a set already done versus pay $150 to $200 per wheel and have to go through the hassle of swapping the wheels on and off. That is what I hear....easier to buy.

Thank ya, sir. That is what I am coming to find. It seems 4.7" is common. The big thing that I have to watch is not to have it look like a "stomper" truck. I think right now I am going to stick with the OEM tires on there, but would never go wider than 285. For what I would be using my JK for, having HUGE wheels would be pretty useless. That is why I have been paining so much over the decision. So want to stick with OEM size for now and just get a decent set of black wheels that don't look dumb.

Mamba mr1s are own spec and come in 5 different finishes

Mamba MR1's look like JK Moabs, but they have 4.75" of backspacing, full 1.5" difference. I would buy them if I was looking at 17's though. Tirerack's got them for $159.

X2. Or just paint them yourself with bedliner. Many have done this with great results. Inexpensive, durable, and easy to touch up
