What did you do with your 3rd brake light?
Has anyone cut and/or modified their stock brake light to work with an aftermarket tire carrier?
...or is everyone just getting the aftermarket replacement light kit?
I found some threads with mods to the stock tire carrier, but very few have reused the stock light on aftermarket carrier.
Pics would be great, if anyone has some.

Scrap that stock light.
I replaced the whole thing with an aluminum base CREE red LED using the Tractor Supply $4.95 tail light reflector and housing. Mounted the light assembly to the center cap, some old microphone coiled cord and a 2 wire QD trailer connector and it's done.

Obviously certain ones have the optional lights that will work if you take out the center cap.
I've been looking @ the Expedition One for down the road and I think for my wheels I'll probably run the AEV brakelight or somehow use the AEV bracket and chop my stock light.
As tkob1060 indicated the TF is nice if it will work with your carrier. I believe its pretty much plug and play reusing existing hardware.

I did this with a $3 LED light before I got my tire carrier.
I now have this. It's an ORO license plate light/brake light. I built my own plate bracket, because I didn't want to spend $50 on a manufactured one.

I tried modifying my stock brake cable by splicing in some weatherpak connectors upto the stock light on my lod bumper but didn't really like it and just ended up throwing it in the garbage and getting the ORO LED platelite kit from Northridge, much better.
