The problem is you could fit more tire.
Your money & all but thatt seems like alot of expense for such a small diameter change.

Could I go to a 285/70/17 and still fit with no rubbing or trimming. I have the tiny 225's on there now with the 16 wheels.

I agree w/ ge99ne. The 265's wouldn't look bad but since you spending that kind of money you may want to go with the 285's. I think as soon as you put the 265's on you will wish you had opted for the next size up. Just my .02.

You can go 285/70/17 but you will rub a bit a high turning radius on front sway bar. I had to use 1.5" wheel spacers to clear. I havent had any problems yet with off roading. I also have a 2.5" lift waiting to be installed from skyjacker.

Those wheels are great!!

I have a set on my '02 Tahoe, they look sweet and are very easy to keep clean.

They have held up well through 2 Minnesota winters!!

Be sure to post pics if you pick a set up! I may do the same on my JK Rubicon 4door in black (just need to go and pick it up.......)

I have the Tera Graplers on my TJ and for the road they are great, no noise, smoth ride, wears great. For offroading though they sure dont grab well on the rocks.

I didn't realize you were jumping from a 16" rim to the 17" in addition to the 40mil increase. It's a bigger jump than I initially thought, but ou can go bigger with little added expense.

Is this a 2 door or 4 door? It will look OK on a 2 but still relatively small on a 4 door.
These are roughly the size of rubicon tires I'm showing 31.6" so I wouldn't think you would have any rubbing issues. Especially with new wheels. Is it even possible to get a truck wheel with the backspacing from factory? I haven't seen any that look like it.

At any rate if you use this thing offroad, or even if you prefer a Jeep with more meaty looks, don't go any smaller than 33's. The spacer lifts are pretty darn cheap. If it's budget holding you back do what I'm doing & wait a while. I'm still leaning towards waiting for the warrany to run out before I make any drivetrain changes. I now how my luck runs, & I'll have to sue to get the radio replaced if there's a lift & big tires installed.
