What Gears and Locker Should I Buy?
2015 JKU Sport
315/75r16 Goodyear Duratracs
3 inch Teraflex lift
Warn Elite front Bumper
Stock 30/44 axles with 3.21 gears
Jeep sees a lot of highway time since I drive it to Vermont from New York often. Also gets gets lightly wheeled on the weekends. What would be the best gear size that will help keep MPGs as high as possible, while also being good in the dirt? Also what is a good locker to be installed in the rear?
EDIT: Just found this kit on Quadratec from G2. How is it and is it complete

You're going to be between 4.10's and 4.56's with the 3.6L and essentially 35" tires. Considering you're very concerned with fuel efficiency, you might have a toss up. I'd say 4.56, which also leaves room for you to bump to a larger tire later should you ever get that itch. 4.10's would probably be manageable for now, but might leave you disappointed in the future, and if you're gonna pay for the regear........do it right the first time.
Are you looking for a lunchbox locker or selectable for the rear? Also, I believe on 3.21 you'll need to be replacing your front carrier if you move up in the 4's....if you're not aware and if I'm not mistaken.

Yep, you'll want to replace the carrier in the d30 since you have 3.21's. A new open carrier is like $80-90, or you could do any of the full-case traction devices instead. I think the Detroit Truetrac is the least expensive at $390ish.
For the rear, do you want Selectable, Auto, or Limited? The eaton e-locker seems to be getting the best reviews lately for selectables. Aussie makes a lunchbox for the rear that has good reviews. Detroit locker has been a long-time favorite for full case auto-lockers. And the Truetrac is the best limited on the market.
Another option you might consider is to start looking around for a set of take-off axles from a rubicon. They can come with either 3.73 or 4.10, will have the e-lockers, thicker axle shafts, and of course the better gears up front.

Yes need a new carrier for the 30, read that elsewhere. Looking for a selectable locker for the rear axle, preferably an e-locker. How are the lunch box lockers never really heard much about them before.
Got a quote for air locker and gears. Complete install of locker, compressor and gears was $3,000. Is that a good price?

This is my 2 cents. Might be wrong but I have 4.56's and wish I had gone 4.88 or 5.13. I also have E-lockers in the front and rear with a D30/44 combo. Wish I had just upgraded to a DV8 44 instead of Throwing money at a time bomb D30. I also wasted money on Chromo's for the front and rear. So I'm invested and built 30's are worth next to nothing. Probably end up parting it out from what I can salvage after explodes. My front locker gets used sparingly since I don't have hydro steering and its bound to break if I beat it too hard.
My 2 Cents if you do Keep the D30
G2 4.56 gears Front/Rear
Eaton Elocker (Rear) Throw in some G2 Chromo Shafts Rear while you have it apart.
Detroit Tru-trac (Front) Leave the OEM shafts
That should Get you almost anywhere within reason.

I have G2 4.88 gears and eaton e-lockers in my 30/44 axles on 35" tires. Everything else in/on them is stock. Works great for me off-road but I do wheel with a degree of caution. I have a 3.8L with an Automatic so my gearing won't be apples and apples.

I guess it depends on how much he wants to spend on the front carrier.
Open carrier $140
Tru-trac is about $390
Dana 30 E-Locker $800
With a Dana 30 E-locker he's going to have to be gentle on it. "No letting out the throttle monster."
I honestly think its middle ground and it will be easier on the Small R&P of the D30 plus if he does decide to upgrade to a 44 down the line he's only out $390 for the Tru trac and $198 for the R&P

I think your splitting hairs a bit between the two gear sizes. Going from 3.21 to either one will make a huge difference. I'd recommend staying with the 4.10 if you do a lot of highway driving and want better fuel economy.
If not the 4.56 will be nice. Not a huge leap between the two.
I run 4.88's with my 3.8l on 35's and love how it drives. When I had 32's and 4.88's it felt like the gearing was a bit over and I had the same gas mileage around town as on the highway.
