I read the first sentence that long arms give you better clearance than short arms and literally laughed out loud. I don't know what the rest of it says because after reading that I couldn't continue...

You did not miss much but not going further. What a waste of time. This is a terrible "article" written by someone that know little about the subject.

Thanks to both of you for saving me the time I would have wasted following the link. Wish I could thumbs up!!

Yeah, long arms are only worth the time if you're going for a big suspension with loads of travel, big tires, and have some specific goals in mind.

If you're really dedicating to going fast, long arms a little better. If you want big wheel travel, long arms allow for cleaner suspension cycling.

All this is really cool, but in the end it's rarely worth it. You can get 95% of the performance from a short arm suspension with better ground clearance and you don't have to cut up your Jeep. I've a very small handful of suspension kits in the last year that weren't conventional short arm kits, and most of those would Evo DD/EvoLever setups because guys wanted to go all the way, which is awesome, but really not too far off of what you can get with a nice short arm kit and good shocks.
